Sterling Silver is made from 92.5% silver. A beautiful material but it does tarnish with age. It is easily restored with a chemical silver polish. We use 1/2 hard temper.
TheRingLord uses a special anti-tarnish sterling silver alloy made just for us! This alloy has all the same properties of sterling but it tarnishes slower!
Fine Silver is made from 99.9% silver. Fine silver has more corrosion resistance than sterling silver. It fuses well and has no fire scale when heated.
Fine silver is a great alternative to the proprietary Argentium - it has basically the same properties!
We use full hard temper for all of our fine silver rings - this is the same hardness as 1/2 hard sterling. Wire can be bought in either dead soft or full hard temper.
NOTE: 1 ounce = 0.0625 lbs = 28.3 grams
