Thickness varies from 0.015" to 0.03" based on material. It doesn't affect the appearance and you can mix a thicker with a thinner scale.
0.015" Thick 1/4 hard temper Material is 410 stainless and it will rust if left wet. The magnetite layer is black rust. If you need a black that is more consistent or can get wet we recommend anodized aluminum.
