Japanese 12-2 is a doubled version of Japanese 6-1 (which is also called Oriental). In Japanese 12-2, as shown in the photo to the right, each of the large flat rings and each of the small connecting rings is doubled. Typically for Japanese weaves the larger rings are opened and the small connecting rings are pre-closed. Since we are using EPDM rings, which are solid rings, we have to open the smaller rings and weave the project that way. To weave any of the stars and dreidels in this tutorial, simply follow the pattern shown for each below.
